For over 30 years, Sam's Deli has served up their famous made-to-order sandwiches, fresh soups and salads. Folks line up out the door at lunch-time daily for this hearty and healthy fare. But the line moves quickly and the value-priced food and friendly staff make the wait worthwhile. After the lunch rush is over, the lines shorten and the same tempting menu is offered until closing in the evening. Local wine and beer is available as well as a variety of desserts made onsite from our own recipes.

The smell of fresh baking every morning wafts out the front door and breakfasts like granola, fruit salad and yogurt coupled with fresh coffee and juices tempt early risers. And the famous smoked salmon, cream cheese and bagel platter is always a hit.

Lunches are famous with fresh soups, sandwiches made before your eyes and fresh salads made to order.

Our new bistro menu for dinner is still being developed but we are testing local fare such as locally raised pork, chicken and beef, Saltspring Lamb, Wild Pacific Halibut and Salmon, fresh local produce of course, and bread and pies from Irene's Bakery up the street.

At some point of your day - whether its after lunch, mid-afternoon or during your evening stroll around the harbour - be sure to visit The Soda Shoppe next door at 801 Government Street for an old-fashioned treat from their soda fountain or a cone The flavours are unforgettable and it tastes just like the creamy treat that your grandma might have enjoyed.

Sam's Deli is located in the heart of downtown Victoria, facing onto Victoria's famous Inner Harbour and next door to the Empress Hotel, the Royal BC Museum and British Columbia's Parliament Buildings.
